Men Elite race info

Course
In the middle of the sacred Flemish cycling week, Dwars door Vlaanderen is a fixture on the programme. The men start their race on 29 March, as usual, in Roeselare. Also a fixture is the double passage on the Côte de Trieu. The Hotond and Nokereberg stand twice on the programme. Add to this Berg Ten Houte and numerous cobblestone sections, including the Huisepontweg, two times the Mariaborrestraat and the Herlegemstraat which, just like Nokereberg, are part of the local lap in Waregem. After 11 climbs and eight cobblestone sections, we will know the successor to Mathieu van der Poel on the Verbindingsweg.
Start: Stationsplein in Roeselare – 12:05
Finish: Verbindingsweg in Waregem – around 16:30
Distance: 183,7 km

Results 2022
Early in the race, it became clear that Mathieu van der Poel had an ‘hunger’ to race. He roused his legs - and those of the rest of the peloton - for the first time 90 km from the finish. It was no more than a first shot. Berg Ten Houte, however, turned out to be the deciding factor. At 50 km from the finish, the leading group was caught by the Van der Poel group. Campenaerts was the most industrious at the front, but he could not break away and stay ahead. Benoot made the decisive attack 2 km from the finish and got Van der Poel on his wheel. But on the Verbindingsweg, he was no match for the Dutchman who won Dwars door Vlaanderen for the second time.
