Women Elite race info
Seven cobblestone sections and nine climbs on the edge of the Flemish Ardennes: this is Dwars door Vlaanderen's recipe for women on Wednesday 27 March. With Berg Ten Houte, Côte de Trieu and the Hotond, the traditional climbs of this classic are again on the menu this year, in the middle of the sacred Flemish cycling week. Add to this the cobblestones of the Mariaborrestraat and Huisepontweg, among others, before the finale begins in and around Waregem. At the end of the race, two local laps await where Nokereberg and the cobblestones of Herlegemstraat will play an important role. The race concludes once again on the Verbindingsweg in Waregem, where we will finally be introduced to the successor to Demi Vollering.
Start: Hippodroom in Waregem – 14:30
Finish: Verbindingsweg in Waregem – around 17:48
Distance: 129,9 km
After a 10km solo from Nokereberg, Demi Vollering added Dwars door Vlaanderen to her record of achievements after Strade Bianche earlier this season. Last year's winner Consonni sprinted to second place, with Marianne Vos completing the podium.
