Kopecky and Van Aert are aiming for a first victory at Dwars door Vlaanderen

24/03/2026

On Wednesday 1 April, the starting gun will sound for the 80th edition of Dwars door Vlaanderen. Team Visma | Lease a Bike, with Wout van Aert eager to win after last year's second place, will go up against Pedersen, Ganna and Philipsen. Lotte Kopecky also wants to add Dwars door Vlaanderen to her honorary list, but will first have to get past Vollering and Vos.

Participants men

Wout van Aert is chasing his first triumph in Waregem and will have the support of former winner Laporte (2023) and British talent Brennan at Team Visma | Lease a Bike. Lidl-Trek hopes to claim the classic for the first time with Pedersen or Milan. Soudal Quick-Step, on the other hand, will start with two former winners: Lampaert (2017 and 2018) and Van Baarle (2021), provisionally joined by the fast Frenchman Magnier.

Asgreen leads the EF Education – EasyPost team, while INEOS Grenadiers is putting Italian Ganna forward. Philipsen (Alpecin-Premier Tech), De Lie (Lotto Intermarché) and F. Vermeersch (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) hope to secure the first Belgian victory since 2018. Additionally, Abrahamsen (Uno-X Mobility) will aim to improve on his second place in 2024.

Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ United) aims to play the surprise card in his debut, while Girmay (NSN Cycling Team) is also a strong opponent. Also on the provisional start list are Pithie (Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe), Lund Andresen (Decathlon CMA CGM Team), Del Grosso (Alpecin-Premier Tech), Mohoric (Bahrain Victorious), and Kubiš (Unibet Rose Rockets).

Stationsplein in Roeselare will host the team presentation from 10:25, after which the riders will start the 80th edition of Dwars door Vlaanderen at 11:55.

Participants women

This year, Dwars door Vlaanderen for women is part of the UCI Women’s World Tour for the first time. Reigning champion Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) will try to defend her title. FDJ United – SUEZ brings a strong duo to the start with former winner Vollering (2023) and Chabbey. Kopecky (Team SD Worx – Protime) aims to improve on her second place last year and, according to the provisional start list, will have the support of Dutch rider Bredewold. Vos (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), who already won in 2024, will also be competing.

Movistar Team is relying on the strong Reusser-Lippert duo, while Consonni (Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto) knows what it takes to win in Waregem (2022). The Italian will be joined by Backstedt. Lidl-Trek brings two riders who have previously been on the podium, Brand (3rd in 2019) and Van Anrooij (2nd in 2024). Le Court (AG Insurance – Soudal Team) hopes to create a surprise in her debut.

Finally, keep an eye on Paternoster (Liv AlUla Jayco) and De Wilde (Fenix-Premier Tech), who aim to at least match their previous top-3 finishes. The latter will join forces with the Dutch duo Pieterse – Kool.
