The city of Roeselare will be the starting place for Dwars door Vlaanderen Elite Men for another five years. The organisation and the city had a contract until 2020 and in the meantime they have an agreement in principle to work together for five more years. The riders can definitely be admired on the Grote Markt in Roeselare until 2025.
On 1 April 2020, the starting shot of the 75th edition of Dwars door Vlaanderen will sound in Roeselare again. The city has been the starting place of Dwars door Vlaanderen since 2007 and they are now adding some more editions. This way, Roeselare will be the starting place until at least 2025. By the way, the first edition in Roeselare was won by Tom Boonen.
Mayor Kris Declercq is delighted with the news: “Roeselare breathes cycling and cycling breathes Roeselare. On April the 1st, Roeselare will be the epicentre of the cycling sport. Throughout the year there is also our Museum of Cycling, KOERS, for both passionate cycling enthusiasts and recreational bike riders.”
